The official beginnings of OLC's "OG" Staff started during the Winter Retreat of 2009. Seven people had a dream of having a community in Augusta, Georgia, consisting of different people, coming from different backgrounds. From that dream, our purpose statement was born:
"WE EXIST TO HONOR JESUS, SERVE OTHERS, CONNECT, EQUIP, AND MULTIPLY CULTURALLY DIVERSE STUDENTS FOR THE GLORY OF GOD."
Of course, it took time for that statement to come into fruition, but through plenty of hard work, and surely by the grace of God, OLC grew to about 200 members, ranging from middle school to post college. Now, with 3 staff members, our dream is still the same. We desire to live out the Great Commission, as we are called to make disciples of all nations, in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
